Education by electric car - Hunting of the Dukes on the Birštonas Manor trails The only eco-friendly electric cars in the Baltic States, accompanied by a tour guide, a historian-educator and a tour guide, pupils set off along the trails of the Birštonas resort: through the Žvėrinčius Forest, Vytautas' Castle Mound, and the Skėvonys Ridge. Since 1413, all the most famous kings, grand dukes and their ladies have passed through the trails. During the ride, an audio guide will give pupils, according to their age, a history lesson of the Royal Hunting and Recreation Estate: how the hunting estate was organised for economic reasons in Europe in the Middle Ages, and what titles took part in the Birštonas hunts; how the months-long hunts were used by King Jagiello and the Grand Duke Vytautas to discuss political issues; and how, during the 15th and 16th centuries, the hunting estate was used by the Royal House of St. The great Birštonas Forest was preserved, maintained and inherited in the 16th century. After stopping at the most important historical recreational sites, the pupils are involved in practical tasks: climbing Vytautas' Mound; testing their endurance at the hunting grounds in the Žvėrinčius Forest, exploring the vastness of the Birštonas Forest, which is thought to be the site of the 1422 Treaty of Melnus, by climbing the highest tower in Lithuania.
